Comverge has helped agricultural businesses maximize their energy usage and achieve energy saving results.
Historically, agricultural businesses have considered energy costs well after their first concerns of labor and materials. Today, with energy resources dwindling and energy costs rising, smart energy management is quickly becoming a priority.

Comverge understands that most agricultural businesses’ electricity costs are tied directly to water usage. Comverge helps reduce these costs by:
- Improving the efficiency of irrigation pumping systems
- Shifting loads
- Analyzing the farm’s energy infrastructure
Case in point
For one northeastern U.S. agricultural air contaminant testing station, accurately maintaining temperature ranges and constant fresh air flow is critical. Comverge installed new pulse meters and a digital cellular gateway to enable real-time, accurate performance of the existing energy management infrastructures. Through the installation of Digital Cycling Units working in concert with the facility's automated power management and cooling system, pre-programmed temperature adjustments were assured during emergency periods of peak demand. Even though it is a two-building operation, the customer saw the benefit of incentive income that further subsidized its research.
