Smooth Linear Control with Distributed Intelligence

ZigBee DCUUsing Linear Control and Distributed Intelligence (DI), a SuperSwitch™ can be controlled for up to 8 hours from a single radio message. When a DCU receives a different control command, it smoothly adjusts between control levels, eliminating the risk of creating an artificial peak. Each DCU, when conducting DI control, selects a different start time to allow a gradual ramping into and out of control. If an immediate load shed and gradual return is required, a properly formatted direct load control command can initiate control, followed by a DI control to ramp out of control.

Adaptive Algorithm Control

The DCU monitors load operation and control cycles using percentage-based commands. This helps to eliminate “freeriders” and enables greater control of oversized systems and more equitable load reduction across customers.
