Comverge's Maingate® Home system is a fully price-responsive home energy automation system. Consisting of a gateway, load control receivers, and one or multiple SuperStats®, the system enables a consumer to program responses to changes in energy price tier via their thermostat or over a program website.
This state-of-the-art system is designed to facilitate Time of Use (TOU) and Critical Peak Pricing (CPP) rate structures. Unlike many systems available on the market, Maingate Home enables a consumer to pre-program responses to changes in electricity pricing, ultimately providing consumers greater savings on their electricity bills. Without this feature, it can be difficult for consumers to react to a change in pricing when away from home.
Maingate Home enables homeowners to program their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, one or more electric water heaters, a pool pump, or any other major auxiliary appliance through a password-protected web portal, or directly through their "smart" SuperStat thermostat. Maingate Home will then automatically change the SuperStat's temperature setpoint and turn off any auxiliary appliances when a change in price occurs as per the homeowner's preference.
