Comverge In-Home Display Becomes ZigBee Smart Energy Certified
IHD joins Comverge's two other certified products

(Nasdaq: COMV), a leading provider of smart grid, demand management and energy efficiency solutions, today announced it has received ZigBee(R) Smart Energy certification for its PowerPortal(R) in-home display (IHD). The IHD joins Comverge's two other certified products, Digital Control Unit and Programmable Communication Thermostat, creating one of the broadest ZigBee product portfolios for Demand Response on the market today.

The ZigBee Smart Energy Profile offers a secure, wireless home area network (HAN) for energy management and gives utilities and their customers the ability to communicate with smart appliances without the need for a broadband connection. Comverge's PowerPortal communicates wirelessly with smart meters outside the home allowing consumers to track their electricity consumption and monitor electricity rates in real-time and receive messages or alerts from their utility provider.
