Comverge, Inc. Announces Commercial and Industrial Demand Response Program with Pacific Gas and Electric Company

East Hanover, NJ - March 7, 2007: Comverge, Inc., a leading provider of clean energy solutions through demand response, announced today it has entered into a five year contract with Pacific Gas and Electric Company to provide a new Commercial and Industrial Virtual Peaking Capacity program designed to deliver up to 50 megawatts of electric capacity in the first two years. The agreement is subject to approval by the California Public Utility Commission.

Comverge's VPC program will provide critical peak capacity, achieved through reducing energy usage of non-essential processes at small, medium and large C&I facilities throughout the PG&E service territory. This voluntary program is designed to utilize the region's energy resources more efficiently, capturing benefits not possible with traditional generation, such as avoiding line losses and relieving transmission constrained areas in an environmentally responsible way.

"Demand Response is a key clean energy component to any utility's resource plan," commented Robert M. Chiste, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our new program with PG&E will provide a cost-effective and environmentally responsible solution to peaking and emergency energy situations in California. We look forward to working together with PG&E and businesses and institutions in the region to meet California's growing capacity needs."
