East Hanover, NJ - January 25, 2007: Comverge, Inc. announced today that it has been named the recipient of a 2006 ISO New England Demand Response Achievement Award. The award is given annually to companies and customers in recognition of their contributions in helping maintain the reliability of New England’s bulk power grid through the use of demand response. ISO New England is recognizing Comverge’s CoolSentry™ program due to its unique place in the region of providing residential and small commercial customers an ability to participate economically in a program that helps maintain grid reliability.

“ISO New England is pleased to recognize Comverge’s CoolSentry program with this award,” commented Robert Laurita, Supervisor of Demand Response at ISO New England. “CoolSentry allows a previously untapped pool of resources – namely residential and small business electricity users – to band together and participate in the ISO’s Demand-Response Programs, reducing electricity use when it’s most needed to help maintain power system reliability.”

Comverge’s CoolSentry™ Demand Response program in Southwestern Connecticut provided over 60 megawatts of capacity to the transmission constrained area this summer, during the August 2, 2006 system peak. Over 25,000 residents and small business owners have enrolled in the program. Capacity is provided by cycling usage of central air conditioners when requested by the ISO. The emergency-only program has been operated twice in the past three years – both during record system peaks in the area.
