The taller bars represent the aggregated monthly peak usage of all five stores. This important information was calculated by Comverge and not available on energy bills.
The aggregated peak is always less than adding the individual peaks together. The Comverge calculation showed a 12% difference.
Armed with this information, the chain was able to buy electricity on the open market at the aggregate level instead of the higher individual store level, saving 12% per month across all stores.
