“We thought the dual boilers were a good idea …”
A large office building had Comverge evaluate their energy usage. To avoid an excessive peak load, the building used two boilers, set up to run in alternating 15-minute intervals.
Comverge reports indicated the boilers were doing exactly the opposite – turning on and off at the same time, consistently causing excessive peak loads.
Comverge Energy Analysts immediately brought this to the attention of the facility manager, who corrected the timing problem. The office building went on to save $8,500 per month, 5% annually on energy costs.
