Project Engineer (Kennett Square , PA)
Job Summary
In this position you will be a significant contributor to the profitable growth of Comverge as a key member of Enerwise team. You will be responsible for developing electrical project concepts and preparing specifications and project reports. You will analyze electrical studies completed on the client’s electrical systems and oversee a staff of engineers. This position reports to the Manager, Engineering
Responsibilities
- Provides project engineering, as assigned by the Manager of Engineering.
- Prepares specifications for design project construction documents.
- Conducts field surveys on projects, where required.
- With senior designer, coordinates specification content with design documents.
- Attends project meetings with client to review concepts and progress of construction drawings and/or progress of system studies.
- With senior designer, oversees CAD operators on projects.
- Monitors the progress of personnel in the production of their tasks as they relate to the project schedule.
- Works with senior designer in the development of a vendor list for specific project equipment.
- Checks project specifications for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Communicates and meets with outside technical consultants to ensure that all elements of the project are properly and accurately coordinated.
- Attends construction meetings with client and contractors to monitor construction as it relates to project documents.
- Provides information to the Manager, Engineering, in periodic project production meetings.
- Works with the Engineering Coordinator to prepare proposals for exiting or potential client’s engineering design project or system study.
- Evaluates results of electrical power system reports. Recommends courses of action.
- Assist CAD operators in reparation of control drawings for presentation to the customer.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 - 5 years related experience in project engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Individual should have knowledge of power distribution and controls and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with solid state protective relaying is a plus.
