Product Manager (NJ/GA)

Comverge, Inc. is recognized as a premier "Clean Energy" company, providing demand response solutions to energy suppliers and their industrial, commercial and residential customers. Utilizing its end-to-end energy intelligence software platform, PowerCAMP, combined with its field-proven hardware products, Comverge uses wireless communications to provide energy intelligence solutions, including peak load management, automatic meter reading and grid-management programs to electric utilities and other energy suppliers. Comverge has more than 500 customers and two business models, including a "no-risk" Virtual Peaking Capacity outsource model in which the company assumes all the risk of installing and managing demand side management programs for its customer in exchange for capacity payments. We are currently seeking highly motivated Product Managers to join our teams in East Hanover, NJ and Duluth, GA.

Product Manager
The Product Manager will be the driving force behind developing and executing marketing communication tactics to improve enquiry activity/results for designated centers. This individual will direct the planning, development and production of all marketing materials and related communications media. In addition, this role will interact with external organizations (i.e. advertising agency) in the development of planned activities. You will also manage the entire product management lifecycle (cradle to grave) of a suite of hardware products related to load control systems including new and existing products.

Job Summary:

  • Product line profitability
  • Create product market specification including product functionality
  • Make customer product presentations with Sales team
  • Integrate with sales team on proposals, feedback analysis and business case justifications
  • Justify new product enhancements
  • Drive Engineering/Product Development teams located in Atlanta, GA

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field and 2+ years of demonstrated success in focused product management (e.g. feature definition, sales channel management, promotion, pricing strategies and ROI based enhancement analysis) for the nurturing of new products into mainstream sales (though appropriate channels) with a high-tech product line utilizing advanced wireless communications, microprocessor design and embedded software. Previous experience managing the entire product lifecycle, including interacting with customers to gather needs, make presentations and propose solutions essential. This collaborative team player must have the ability to create product specifications, user manuals, cost/schedule targets and team with the Engineering Department to launch the product. Familiarity with electric utility business models and products/services preferred.
