Financial Analyst – Performance Metrics (NJ)

Utilizing its end-to-end energy intelligence software platform, PowerCAMP, combined with its field-proven hardware products, Comverge uses wireless communications to provide energy intelligence solutions, including peak load management, automatic meter reading and grid-management programs to electric utilities and other energy suppliers. Comverge has more than 500 customers and two business models, including a "no-risk" Virtual Peaking Capacity outsource model in which the company assumes all the risk of installing and managing demand side management programs for its customer in exchange for capacity payments. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Financial Analyst to join our East Hanover, NJ team.
Financial Analyst – Performance Metrics
As the Financial Analyst, you will lead the assessment, analysis and reporting of key performance, operational and business metrics and trends within the AER Group. In this role, you will provide financial, budget and special project analysis for relevant operating areas, as well as have high exposure to upper management.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assess key performance metrics crucial to the successful operation of the AER Group
- Lead effort to extract relevant data from G/L software, operational reports, etc. and work with cross functional teams to design and implement regular reports for that data
- Design and implement new reporting documents, processes and tools
- Track and analyze actual, historical performance of projects compared to original forecasts
- Analyze data to develop and prepare routine (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.) reports for Program Managers, heads of business units and upper management
- Anticipate business requirements, trends and variances to report on most relevant metrics, as well as identify and explain variances
- Develop ad-hoc reporting and analysis
- Attend and participate in regular meetings to present results of financial budget analysis
- Identify areas for process improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
- 2-5 years related experience in financial analysis and/or general accounting
- rocesses including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and/or budget analysis
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to proficiently interpret results and provide guidance to business partners
- Strong organization skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to articulate complex concepts and thoughts effectively
- Strong PC skills with expert-level Excel skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
- Comfortable in a team environment with changing priorities and time lines in a fast-paced environment
- Energy industry experience a plus
- Crystal Reports writing and knowledge of MAS500 or other GL system a plus
