NV Energy Extends Partnership With Comverge to Grow Industry's Largest Smart Grid Ready Demand Response Program

NORCROSS, GA., May 3, 2010 - Comverge, Inc. (Nasdaq:COMV), a leading provider of smart grid, demand management and energy efficiency solutions, today announced an extended agreement with NV Energy to continue to manage the industry's largest smart grid ready demand response program and build-out additional megawatts (MW). The new agreement continues the longstanding relationship between Comverge and NV Energy and follows the record-setting 2-year build out of more than 100 MW of residential and small commercial load reduction.

NV Energy provides electricity to 2.4 million electric customers throughout Nevada and northeastern California. Under the new agreement, Comverge will continue to manage its 143 megawatt (MW) program and build-out an additional 12 MW, bringing the program total to more than 155 MWs. Comverge will also provide its SuperStat(R) programmable communicating thermostats. In addition, NV Energy and Comverge may explore additional demand response technologies to support their Advanced Service Delivery (ASD) roll-out, further future-proofing their current and future smart grid initiatives.

"NV Energy has long been a leader in alternative energy and this extended agreement is another example of their continuing commitment to deliver impactful energy solutions to their customers," said R. Blake Young, president and CEO, Comverge. "Having partnered with NV Energy to become pioneers in offering two-way communicating demand response programs, we are excited to continue our support of this program as they move to the next level of sophistication with their ASD roll-out. The continued growth of this program demonstrates to the rest of the industry the power of demand response and how our proven, comprehensive and smart grid ready solutions can support utilities in advancing the smart grid."

The original agreement between NV Energy and Comverge provided customer choice and empowerment through advanced technology to facilitate NV Energy's smart grid transition. In May 2007, Comverge announced its contract with NV Energy to provide 100 MW of demand response capacity beyond the approximately 23 MWs NV Energy had previously built-out. In 2008, the contract was expanded by an additional 20 MW and by 2009 Comverge and NV Energy had successfully achieved 143 MW of installed capacity, making this one of the largest outsourced demand response projects in North America to date.
